Extended Day Programs
Please note this special announcement for families who utilize the Before and After School care for the upcoming 2024-2025 school year:
The Oneonta City School District Extended Day Programs will be offered in a format that will look very similar to the programs that have been offered for many years. Each elementary school will offer a Before School Program beginning at 7:15 AM and an After School Program that will end at 5:30 PM. Kids will still be offered a range of activities, including indoor and outdoor free play, thematic arts and crafts, literature sessions, and the opportunity to do homework.
Parents will notice several changes in the registration process and payment structure. The school district is transitioning to a more efficient and user-friendly system by implementing MSB Activities, an online application provided by MySchoolBucks, designed specifically for extended day programs. This new application will be rolled out in early August, streamlining the entire process for families.
With MSB Activities, parents will be able to complete their children's registration online, eliminating the need for cumbersome paperwork and in-person submissions. The system is intuitive and easy to navigate, ensuring that families can quickly and accurately provide all necessary information.
In addition to simplifying registration, MSB Activities will also revolutionize the payment process. Parents will have the ability to make secure online payments, set up recurring payments, and receive electronic receipts, providing greater convenience and transparency. This new approach not only saves time but also reduces the risk of errors and ensures timely processing of payments.
Overall, the introduction of MSB Activities will offer a seamless and efficient experience for parents, making it easier to manage their children's involvement in the extended day program. The school district is committed to enhancing the overall experience for families and believes that this new system will significantly improve the registration and payment processes.
Our new Extended Day Program Director, Mrs. Colleen Andrew, will be working diligently this summer to prepare the program for the upcoming school year. Families will be notified as soon as the program is operational and registration becomes available. Please be on the lookout for a message on ParentSquare when registration is available early in August.
As a reminder, all payments for the 2023-2024 school year must be complete and up to date for your child(ren) to be enrolled in the 2024-2025 Extended Day Programs. We are currently accepting applications for the 2023-2024 Extended Day Programs. Registering your family for the Before and After School Programs now will help us to plan for staffing.
Please note the following fees for the 2023-2024 program year:
Before School Program: $50/ month. ($45/ month for each additional child in the same household).
After School Program: $95/ month. ($90/ month for each additional child in the same household).
AM/PM Drop-in Program fees: AM: $5 per day/ per child. PM: $10 per day/ per child.
As a reminder, all fees for the current (2022-2023) program year must be paid in full in order for your application to be accepted. Should you have any questions or concerns, please contact Colleen Andrew. Thank you.

For applications received before the end of the 2022-2023 school year: Acceptance letter by June 30.
For applications received throughout the summer: Acceptance emails sent out beginning on August 1stuntil programs are full.
When program capacity is reached, a waitlist will be started and maintained by the Extended Day Program Director.
