The Oneonta Middle School serves the 6th, 7th, and 8th graders of the Oneonta City School District and believes all young adolescents should have an opportunity to succeed in every aspect of the educational program which is shaped to fit the needs of students. The middle school should be a place where trusting relationships with adults and peers establish a climate for intellectual development and personal growth. Every student should learn to think critically through mastery of an appropriate body of knowledge and demonstration of critical skills.

Mr. Tom Molle

My name is Tom Molle, and I have been with the Yellowjacket Team since 2019.  I live in the City of Oneonta with my wife and two children.  I first moved to Oneonta in the fall of 2001, where I began working on my bachelor's degree in English at SUNY Oneonta.   I earned my Master's Degree in Adolescent English Education at the College at St. Rose.  While teaching English 7, 8, and 12 at Charlotte Valley, I earned my Advanced Graduate Certificate in School Building and District Leadership at SUNY Stony Brook and began my career as principal with the Charlotte Valley community in the spring of 2015 until my departure for Oneonta in 2019.

At school, I love to be in the hallways, talking with students, attending events, and staying involved with my/our community.  I coach youth girls' travel basketball through the winter and help coach baseball in the spring and summer with many other terrific volunteers.  These activities help me give back to my community and provide an opportunity to interact and build relationships with our youth outside of school, which only strengthens our bond at school.  Community involvement is something I am passionate about, and I am lucky to be able to work with such wonderful leaders in our community who serve and support the amazing and talented youth.

Outside of school, I enjoy spending time with my family.  I love to cook and share food with friends.  My family is busy traveling almost every weekend to a game – baseball, basketball, or soccer.  With the addition of football, we rarely sit in one place for very long, but I enjoy the movement and watching my children and their teammates compete.

I am fortunate to lead the Oneonta Middle School Team.  Together, we work hard to provide a rigorous, fun, and engaging program routed in developing positive relationships, which helps us forge a safe and caring environment where all students feel safe and valued and believe that THEY CAN.

Please feel free to contact me at any time to talk.  I am happy to meet with our valued loved ones.
